COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE

Banjul, le 1^{er avril 2005} : Le 17ème Rapport Annuel dActivités 2003-2004 de la Commission Africaine des Droits de lHomme et des Peuples a été adopté par la 4ème session ordinaire de la Conférence des Chefs dEtat et de Gouvernement de lUnion Africaine tenue du 28 au 31 janvier 2005 à Abuja, Nigeria. La Conférence a autorisé la publication de ce rapport.

Conformément à larticle 59 (3) de la Charte Africaine des Droits de lHomme et des Peuples ce Rapport dActivités devient un document public.

Le Rapport porte sur un ensemble dactivités menées par la Commission Africaine durant la période visée. Il contient notamment :

Le rapport sur la mission dinformation en République de Zimbabwe ainsi que les observations de ce pays ;

Les résolutions adoptées au cours des 34ème et 35ème sessions ordinaires ;

Les décisions sur les communications adoptées au cours des 34ème et 35ème sessions ordinaires, etc.

Le Rapport est actuellement disponible au Secrétariat de la CADHP et peut être obtenu sur simple demande. Il peut être consulté sur le site Internet de la Commission Africaine (www.achpr.org)

^{presse release Banjul, the 1st April 2005: The 17th Annual Report for 2003-2004 of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights was adopted by the 4th ordinary session of the Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union held from the 28 to 31 January 2005 in Abuja, Nigeria. The Summit authorized the publication of this report.

In accordance with article 59 (3) of the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights this Activity Report becomes a public document.

The Report relates to a whole of activities undertaken by the African Commission during the period referred thereof. It contains, in particular:

The report on the Fact-finding Mission to the Republic of Zimbabwe as well as the observations of the Government;
The Resolutions adopted during the 34th and 35th Ordinary Sessions;
The Decisions on the communications adopted during the 34th and 35th Ordinary Sessions, etc.
The Report is currently available at the Secretariat of the ACHPR and can be obtained upon request. It can be accessed on web site of the African Commission at www.achpr.org.
